60x10' | Kalu Yala, Panama | December 2015
Kalu Yala is a new village being built in a Panamanian river valley to bring together entrepreneurs, artists, scientists and modern day romantics. Their philosophy is built around the notion that the quality of our lives depends greatly on our environment. They're reimagining what's possible, and designing an optimized model of living to share with the world.
I was invited to create a mural over the course of their four day 2015 New Years Eve celebration.
I was given complete creative freedom, and opted for a piece in all white - leaving room for the natural surroundings to keep center stage. The work was inspired by the mountain range directly behind the wall. If you look closely, you'll see a bird with outstretched wings hidden in the crest of the mountain.
