ARTIST STATEMENT
In the midst of our daily routines, we sometimes experience moments that pull us out of the ordinary and show us glimpses of something greater, hidden just beneath the surface – moments when the mundane becomes sacred, and we find ourselves connected to a deeper sense of being.
Everyday Transcendence creates a portal to these life-affirming yet ephemeral truths that we so often overlook in the constant rush of life.
It is a visual metaphor for these brief communions with joy, love, connection, understanding and freedom – and it reminds us that transcendence is within our reach, even in the most unexpected places.
“LAX is excited to welcome passengers to Terminal 4 with Allison Kunath’s awe-inspiring mural. Her distinctive mark-making and vibrant color palette invite reflection and connection, encouraging us to engage with our surroundings in a more meaningful way.
Everyday Transcendence not only enhances the passenger experience at LAX, it also contributes to our city’s rich tapestry of murals, cementing LA’s identity as a hub for creativity and artistic expression.”
